Why we are Over the Hangover

Deciding to stop drinking, or even taking a vacation from drinking, is a personal choice. We all have our own reasons for stopping.

For some, it is hitting rock bottom — losing a job, getting divorced, or facing a legal issue such as a DUI. For others, hitting the pause button on drinking is more “organic”– you want to be healthier, wealthier, or just a better version of yourself.

We all have our own journey when it comes to drinking. Except, of course, those lucky few who have never had a drink.

Those looking to permanently stop drinking, or those looking to just take a break, need guidance, tools, and resources to live this new sober or sober-ish life.

And that is why I have started “Over the Hangover”.

On this website, I will share my sober curious journey in hopes of connecting and helping others. I will share my personal experiences, tools to stay sober in challenging situations, and the latest news/trends in the sober-curious culture.

My hope is that “Over the Hangover” can be a community where those who are sober-curious can get together and share their own experiences. There is no judgment here and all are welcome — from those who just want to cut back to maybe one or two drinks a week, to those who plan to never want to drink again. This blog is not meant to debate the pros and cons of moderation versus quitting for good. Please have that important conversation elsewhere.

We are just here to support one another, wherever this sober-curious journey takes us.
